Top 6 websites to bookmark on your netbook

    By Sara Meurer
I hope I’m not the only one, but I get tired of constantly typing in the URL to my most visited websites.  I’ve compiled a list of websites that you should definitely have bookmarked on your netty.  So go ahead, click that bookmark button and save yourself light-years of wasted time:
    1. Moodle:  I know this is an obvious one, but this has to be the most visited website at STA. You can use it for assignments, messaging, and just about anything else school related.
    2. Powerschool: I know I’m not the only one constantly checking my grades and calculating my approximate GPA. Not only does Powerschool tell me my grade for each class, but I can look at a breakdown of each grade.
    3. Quizlet: I’m pretty new to Quizlet, but I’m realizing that it is extremely eco-friendly.  I’ve officially stopped using paper notecards, because Quizlet saves time and paper.
    4.  Pandora: Pandora will take the name of any song, artist, or album, and compile a radio station based on other music that is similar to it. When you’re sitting in silent study, listening to a radio of your favorite artist will make your Algebra homework a little less painful.  I promise.
    5. Freerice: Freerice.com is my go-to website when I’m bored in a free. Basically, the website prompts you with a multiple choice vocabulary question, and for each answer you get right, they donate 10 grains of rice through the World Hunger Programme to help end world hunger.
    6. Google Docs: Google Docs may just be my best friend.  I can make folders for each of my classes and create word documents, powerpoints, spreadsheets and calendars. I use Google Docs to take notes in all of my classes because I can access those notes from any computer.  That way, I don’t have to worry about backing up all my documents on my netty.
