On Thursday, May 3, STA held a round of the Modern Woodmen of America speech contest in the auditorium, featuring twelve students currently enrolled in Speech I. The theme of the 2012 contest was “A time when volunteers made a difference.” Junior Nikki Rodriguez took first place. Sophomores Frankie Neunuebel and Maggie Bowen took second and third place, respectively. Other participants were Heather Cigas, Kelly Gardella, Abbey Haines, Maggie Herrington, Katie Hornbeck, Maggie Nothnagel, Katie Parkinson, Natalie Rall, and Emily Wemhoff.
